This is the power of Visio Divina (Divine Seeing). It is an ancient Christian practice of using visual imagery to encounter God, and it is the heart of my work as a Visio Divina Prophetic Artist.

But what exactly does that mean, and how can it impact your walk with Christ?

What is Visio Divina?

Visio Divina is a contemplative prayer practice. Just as Lectio Divina is the practice of sacred reading, Visio Divina is the practice of sacred seeing. It involves gazing intentionally at an image—not to analyze the artist's technique, but to allow the Holy Spirit to use the image as a bridge to speak to your soul. It is a way of slowing down, opening your heart, and asking God, "What are You showing me right now?"

What is a Prophetic Artist?

A prophetic artist is a creator who partners with the Holy Spirit to produce visual works that carry a specific message, encouragement, or anointing. Instead of painting just for aesthetic decoration, a prophetic artist prays through the creative process, believing that the finished piece will minister to the viewer in a unique way.

Combining the Two: My Work

As a Visio Divina Prophetic Artist, I create Spirit-led art specifically designed to guide you into deeper reflection and encounter with God.

My work is not meant to be hung on a wall and ignored. It is meant to be a tool for your spiritual journey. The colors, the movement, and the imagery are created in prayer, intended to bypass the noise of the world and draw your focus back to the Creator. • It Bypasses the Analytical Mind: So much of our faith is processed intellectually. Art allows us to connect with God emotionally and intuitively, opening our hearts to receive His love and healing.
• It Creates Space for the Holy Spirit: In a fast-paced world, gazing at an image forces us to pause. That pause creates a sanctuary where the Holy Spirit can bring comfort, conviction, or clarity.
• It Reveals Our Identity: Prophetic art often bypasses the lies we believe and speaks directly to our true identity as Daughters of the King.

How to Practice Visio Divina Today

1. Find a piece of Spirit-led art that draws you in. You may use the one above for practice here.
2. Take a deep breath and quiet your mind.
3. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide your "seeing."
4. Gaze at the image for 2-3 minutes without analyzing it.
5. Notice what catches your eye or what emotions arise.
6. Speak to God about what you are feeling, and listen for His response.

Visio Divina is a profound way to connect with God when words fail. It is a beautiful invitation to be still, to see, and to encounter His love for you in a new way.
